You did it — you’re getting married in the Whitsundays, and I’m beyond excited to be the one capturing it all!
I’m [Your Name], the photographer and island guide behind Salty Sands Photography. I’ve known these islands since I was ten years old — exploring hidden coves, chasing sunsets, and falling in love with the way the light dances over the sea. Now, I get to share that magic with you. My goal is to make your elopement feel effortless and unforgettable — like discovering your own hidden treasure cove you’ll cherish forever.
This guide will take you through everything you can expect from me, from planning to photos, and help you get ready for an experience that’s calm, beautiful, and full of joy.
The weather in the Whitsundays is beautiful most days, but if extreme weather is ever forecast, your safety will always come first. In that case, we’ll simply reschedule — no stress, no worry. I’ll reach out about a week beforehand to make new arrangements and handle everything for you, including coordinating with your vendors.
The islands have two main seasons — the wet season and the dry season. I only take bookings during the dry season to make sure your day has the best chance of clear skies, soft light, and that perfect ocean breeze. Whatever the weather brings, I’ll make sure your experience is calm, seamless, and just as beautiful as you imagined.
Getting ready doesn’t always mean being indoors — and that’s the beauty of an island elopement. Many couples prefer to start their day surfing, swimming, or meditating by the sea rather than having a camera in their faces first thing. If that sounds like you, I know the best spots for a relaxed morning by the water.
While you’re soaking up the calm, I can capture breathtaking drone footage of the area — the waves, the sky, and the start of your day from above. I also have full permission to fly at the island retreat accommodation, so your morning can unfold naturally while still being beautifully documented.
If you choose to include my styling service, I’ll arrive 1.5 hours before your ceremony to make sure everything is picture-perfect. This allows 1 hour for setup of your styling elements and an additional 30 minutes for detail shots — capturing all the little touches that make your day unique.
I take care of everything so that when it’s time for your vows, all you need to do is relax, soak in the view, and enjoy your moment together.
If you choose Sunset Photography, we’ll have another 2.5 hours together after your ceremony to explore the island and capture unforgettable moments. This is your time to relax, enjoy each other, and let the magic of the Whitsundays shine through.
We can visit my favorite remote locations for iconic shots, or you can pick one (or a few) ideas — I’ll make all the arrangements so you can simply enjoy your adventure. From golden-hour light over turquoise waters to quiet, hidden beaches, this is where your photos become truly unforgettable.
An island retreat is the perfect place to stay — peaceful, private, and surrounded by the sea. Imagine waking up to ocean views, feeling the salt breeze on your skin, and watching the sunset from your balcony. It’s the kind of stay that turns your wedding trip into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
